Rambert School and Juilliard Launch International Exchange
An ambitious new exchange between the Rambert School in London and The Juilliard School in New York City will give students the chance to experience different training methods and styles. The culmination of this collaboration will be a world premiere by British choreographer Wayne McGregor, to be performed in London in May 2026 by students from each school (19 from Juilliard and 15 from Rambert School).
The Rambert–Juilliard partnership will unfold in three phases. First, students on their respective campuses will work with artists from Studio Wayne McGregor, creating original works to be performed at their respective schools. Juilliard will premiere its work in New Dances: Edition 2025 in December, while Rambert School will present its new work in the PRE[VIEW] series in March 2026.
Rambert School dancers will then travel to New York City to work alongside Juilliard students on new material, again under the direction of Studio Wayne McGregor artists. In the spring, Juilliard students will join their London counterparts for an intensive rehearsal period with McGregor himself, leading up to the premiere of a new full-length work.

This initiative coincides with the 10-year anniversary of Rambert School artistic director and principal Amanda Britton. A former Rambert student and company dancer, Britton has overseen significant expansion, including international auditions and outreach that have connected with tens of thousands of young dancers across Europe and Asia, as well as the creation of Rambert Grades, a contemporary dance syllabus taught in more than 40 countries.
Rambert also announced that the Royal College of Music will begin validating its degrees, the first partnership of its kind in the music school’s 100-year history. Beyond accreditation, the collaboration opens doors to cross-disciplinary projects linking dancers and musicians.
“We’ve arrived at a special moment in the school’s history,” said Britton in a statement, “in which all its activities, from high-quality vocational training to international partnerships and widening participation impact are growing in many directions.”
